Hi!

Does anyone know if the G400 supports or will support this resolution. IMHO the optimal resolution for 21" screens.

Thanx

yeah it makes me laugh the way poeple sit there squinting at their huge cheap 21" screens cos they just have to run at 1600x1200.

If you are running Windows 9x with Powerdesk version 5.xx, you can create almost any resolution using the PowerDesk 5 Resolution Manager. I have just verified that 1440x1080 works on my G400 MAX with no problems, but in theory it should work with any Matrox card supported by PD5.

Get the Resolution Manager here:
http://www.murc.ws/Utils/PD5ResMgr.zip

Please read the warnings in the text file that comes with the download because the current version isn't very robust. If I ever get some free time I'll release a much better version.

Good luck!

Thanx Mark! I've tried it at 1440x1080 but my desktop gets cut at the left, right and upper side. It actually looks like a 1280x1024 out of 1440x1080 desktop.(it's not the monitor that cuts the screen)
Any idea what's wrong? I'm using Win98 with a G400/32/Dual and 5.30 drivers.

Thanx

You made no mention of them so I will ask if you tried the Size and Position controls in the Matrox Monitor Wizard contol panel? Or did you try and adjust the monitor itself?

Oh! No! Not blind!

There is nothing more hidden than the obvious at times. It's gotten me once or twice.

Monitor parameter of resolution 1440x1080...

H V
40 1 Front porch
168 3 Sync
276 42 Back porch

CAUTION!!!
Using it or not depends on you. If your monitor CANNOT afford it, DON'T DO IT! I don't work for any responsibility if there is any damage...
