  • my g400max oc 3dmark results

    I don't know if anyone is still interested, but here is my g400max overclocking results using 3dmark (v200). To keep this readable, I only posted some of the number.

    system: p3-450 @ 558mhz, abit bx6r2 mobo, 192mb ram, sb live value, G400Max.

    800x600 16bit color, default speed 150/200:
    3d mark = 5622
    cpu = 8735
    fill rate = 247.9 mTexels
    2mb texture rendering speed = 363.9 fps
    32mb texture rendering speed = 100.0 fps

    800x600 16bit color, oc 173/216:
    3d mark = 5622 (no change due to vsync?)
    cpu = 8735
    fill rate = 278.7 mTexels
    2mb texture rendering speed = 386.9 fps
    32mb texture rendering speed = 103.9 fps

    3d mark didn't change, but maybe due to vsync still on (monitor refresh of 85). I play games with vsync on, so this is why I left it on for this test. Note that fill rate increased about 12%.

    1024x768 32bit color, default speed 150/200:
    3d mark = 4760
    cpu = 8726
    fill rate = 183.7 mTexels
    2mb texture rendering speed = 212.6 fps
    32mb texture rendering speed = 54.6 fps

    1024x768 32bit color, oc 173/216:
    3d mark = 5022
    cpu = 8731
    fill rate = 200.8 mTexels
    2mb texture rendering speed = 232.2 fps
    32mb texture rendering speed = 56.8 fps

    3d mark increased about 5.5% . Fill rate increased about 9%.

    Notes:
    Using matrox's oc utility, my board runs stable at 110%, so I know the ram can handle 220.

    Using MGATweak, I found out my board cannot handle a 180 gclk (screen blanked out quicker than I pressed the apply button). Runs stable at 173.
    I used a 432 PLL, and dividers of 2.5/2/2.5 and unchecked the adcc.

    I don't really see it being worth it to overclock the G400max, just for a 5% increase?
