  • problems with my g400 dh max

    Hi,
First of all, excuse me if my english is not very good, so if anybody replies, please speak veeeeeeeeery slowly...

I am experiencing some problems with my DH max. My system crashes when i play a game (i have tried colin mcrae rally, starcraft and heroes of might & magic 3 -¿maybe not the kind of game i should play with my max? )and suddenly it crushes or gives me a message telling me that ddhelp has made an invalid operation and then resets my computer. Can anybody help me??

Do you have the latest drivers?
The 5.30 and latest bios. 1.5-22 comes with the Bios_104 file. Those are the first things to always check out. Next make sure that your not sharing any IRQs just the card and a holder from any IRQ 9-12.

          I have version 5.30
          Directx 7.0 (also tried 6.1)
My G400 uses IRQ 11 and it is sharing the interrupt just with the ¿¿IRQ holder?? (in spanish, Marcador IRQ para manejo de PCI)

Any idea on whats going wrong??

How hot is it inside your PC?? Do you have enough cooling for the stuff in it? Does the fan on your Max work?

Try dismantling some of your PC-case for a while. If you don't experience sudden lockups, it's too hot in your PC.

If you still have problems, use the PDuninstaller to remove all drivers and registry settings. You can d/l it from http://www.matrox.com/mga/drivers/fi...l2.htm#utility

Reboot and start up in VGA. Check manually that there's nothing left in the registry.

If you do find something, don't forget to reboot after you deleted it.

Now reinstall the PD5.30 drivers and DirectX6.1 (Spanish language version and DX61core.exe, 2 seperate files!!!)

Reboot your PC and test it thoroughly. If it works okay now, it was a fluke in DX6.1 (the ddhelp error!!!). You could try to update to DX7 now, but don't do it too quickly if Spanish is not a language that's included in DX7 ...

If it still not works, give us your IRQ settings. This can be done by clicking on Start => Programs => Accessories => System Tools => System Information.

Maybe something else is giving your system a hickup. There's more in your machine than your G400 Max using DirectX

Hey Jorden, could you possibly add in a step that includes washing my car the next time (it's [b]really[/i] dirty). Heh-heh. You tried to cover all the bases at once, huh?

                It seems that it works!!!!!
And I didn´t have to wash ace´s car! (Maybe next time)
I (un&re)installed PD 5.30&directx and everything seems ok now.
Now i think i must install Half life, Unreal, quake III or something like that before my g400 asks for divorce
