  • Emergency with g200 + P3B-F

    Did clean install with P3B-F + win98.

Device manager tells me that the display adapter is not working properly (code 23).

    It says fix the adapter!

    What is going on.
    HELP!

Is it a clean install of windows? Have you tried resetting the BIOS on your card? Have you tried booting up without the monitor attached to the card?

It may also be that your Win 98 thinks now that you have two adapters... the autodetected standard PCI adapter and the newly installed G400. If that is the case you should remove (control panel) the extra standard (PCI) VGA adapter.

Sorry I was too hasty to include the details. I was a bit perturbed since I was ditching my old mobo (which was in my sig file below) for a new Asus, presumably to get rid of problems...

Turns out that there was a USB Legacy Support option in the bios that I had not selected. My feeling is that the chipset and other motherboard resources that appear in the Device manager were not being properly recognized. The only downside is that it cost me a bench charge at the store where I bought the mobo to find that out. That, however is another story.

Check out my soon to be posted thread to see how I rave about this new mobo.
