• DVD screenshot

Just wondering if there is a way to get a still screen shot of dvd movie. I have tried simply pausing film, then hitting the 'print screen' button, but when I open it up, it is just black.

Does anybody know how to get the image, or even a hack to get it.

I have photoshop 5.5 as an image app and that is about it (what else does one need?).

    Thanks in advance -joe

Just download HyperSnapDX...it works for tonnes of things including DVD (overlay), as well as D3D and OpenGL stuff...

Or use PowerDVD, which has one-click screen capture built-in.

It can be configured to capture to the clipboard, or to a file, or even straight to your Windows wallpaper.

I find PowerDVD much more convenient than the Cinemaster + HyperSnap-DX combo -- especially when making lots of captures in a session.

From the *cough*cough* link I posted. It is shareware, and fully functional.

I dl'd hypersnap and I couldn't get it to work for me. Whenever I open up the images I 'snap', they are still black. I was sure to enable the 'special' dvd thing, but I must have done something wrong.

Do I have to get a liscense for it to work? Do I have to do some special tweaking? I don't know, but I have G400 32MB DH, Toshiba SD-M1212, and using matroxDVD. Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

                thanks -joe

                    rjcarr,

Make sure you're using the Scroll Lock key to make your capture. It should work.

                    WereWolf,

Try DVD Price Search. It's an excellent search engine, plus it has a frequently updated list of coupons and good deals available from the various stores.

Scroll Lock didn't work for me, so I changed it to Ctrl+Shift+D.
