  • some 3dmark scores with ~400p2 comps

I have seen sooo many g400 3d mark scores with athlons and 600p3's that I for once I would like to see scores done on an equivalent system. My comp specs are 333p2 OC:ed to 400 ( running 4x100mhz ) with 128mb PC100 memory, Octec Rhino II BX-SATX motherboard and G400 SH 16MB running with 306 (153/204) equipped with an old 486 fan. When that damn ASUS athlon board arrives here I'm going to get myself brandnew 550 athlon and play with its OC capabilities a bit. Anyway...some 3D mark99 pro scores.
btw. got my AGP bus working now..and with x2 wheee.

I dont think your 3589 3DMarks are too low, cause Speedy ran the benchmark on an Athlon and not on a PII-400. Look at the Synthetic CPU Speed: 3947 compared to 9142

      on my system (PII-400, 128mb pc100, Asus P2B, G200-8mb) I get 2,777 3DMarks...
so your 3589 (almost 1000 more with a G400 instead of a G200) sounds plausible.

      greetings

I think it is a bit low. With a non-o/c G200 (8Meg and a pII-400, Asus P2B, 128M) I get the same as No-clue but o/c it with MGATweak I can get ~3300 3dMarks99. The rendering textures, etc. are significantly up though from the G200. So I don't know what, if anything is pulling your overall score down.

        Cheers

Well my 3dmark score hasn't gone up at all while I have OC'ed G400. So my guess is that my CPU is the limiting factor.

With VSync switched off you shouldn't use triple buffering ... use double buffering and see your higher scores.

OCing the G400 on a non P3/K7 machine will benefit in the higher resolutions and 800x600 is low-res.

hmm..personally I think I have fairly decent scores considering my processing power. P2 333@400 just doesn't have juice in it to use all the potential G400 has. Then again atleast I have playground with resolutions.

I get 4100 3dmarks and 4600 cpumarks. About 15% higher than you, then again my cpu is clocked about 15% higher so....
