Unreal Tourn. Frame Rates are about 45 on average at 1024 X 768 X 32

    Quake 2, 1024 X 768 = Avg 60 FPS

    System:
    Asus P3B-F
    Pentium 3 550 @633 MHz (115 X 5.5)
256 MB of EMS PC133 Memory
    Quantum KA 18.2 Gig
    Quantum Viking 2 4.5 Gig U2W (80 MB's/second)
    Adaptec U2W SCSI controller
Turtle Beach Home Studio (Montego 2)
    Yamaha 4416S SCSI 4 X 6 Burner
    Plextor 40X Ultra Wide CD-ROM

Can onyone tell me how to enable the Q3A timedemo?

    Thanks.

At the main menu, bring dow the console by hitting the ~ key. Type the following commands:

    timedemo 1 [enter]
    demo q3demo1 [enter]

After the demo finishes, hit the ~ key again to get your score.

I can't seem to hit the 117 FPS mark in Forsaken like MaxPC listed with the MAX in July '99 issue. While it is not a huge issue and 85 is just grand, just wondering what I am missing.

When I had a VooDoo II SLI rig, the limiting factor with FPS was vertical refresh rate. When I bump up refresh in Matrox Powerdesk, do not see any difference in Forsaken FPS.

Don't have Quake III yet, keep spending on hardware. Like overbuying on a house and you can't afford furniture....

          Hi,
Why are all the posts in 3D Mark 99 Max being done in 800x600x16?
1024x768x32 is a better setting to see how fast the Matrox G400 really is.
If it is becuase you are using the unregistered version, then the numbers are not the same as you would get with full version used on most benchmarking sites.
The full version performs a lot more tests which in the end lowers the number. The full version does a total of 26 tests. I forgot what the unregistered version does.

            MattTR,

More tests make no difference in the final score, in fact you can press escape after the second game demo and get the final score from that the rest of the run doesn't affect the scores at all. 800x600x16 is more interesting for G400 users I think that's where the speed needs to be increased in the drivers.

Guy with the G200 and an Athlon cpu,

            I get the a frame or two better than you with my K6-3 448 and a G400 32MB. 42/30.
Upgrade your video card for double the performance, do it now, don't wait!

Are these decent numbers for a K6-III 450MHz G400 (vanilla) @ 115% using the Matrox OC?

I get pretty much the same scores, 240 fillrates, 40/30 game tests etc. 3DMark99Max sucks on AMD cpus, with a 280MHz K6-2 266 I was getting around 25 fps in the second test. It's just an off benchmark.

Mattr I Think that the reason most of the 3DMarks are 800x600 is because none of us have the full registered version of the program. That is also why there is a big long list of tests with nothing after them.

Thoso figures look pretty good for a plain G400. The MAX does seem to help a little.

Doesn't really matter much for me though.

                        System specs:
                        Celeron 300a OC to 464
G400 MAX 176 core, 220 memory using MGATweak
                        Abit Bh6 mobo
                        128 megs Micron PC100

                        Here are my scores:

                        800x600x16 Z16
                        4016 3DMarks
                        4571 CPU 3DMarks

                        1024x768x32 Z32
                        3981 3DMarks
                        4575 CPU 3DMarks

Pretty much the same. Guess it's my CPU. Scores should be a tad bit higher because I was benching with programs and this reply window in the back.

Thanks Xcompracer. Now I have something to at least compare mine too.
On your overclocked Pentium 3 what kind of fan are you using? The stock Intel one or another?
I have been running mine at just a 103mz bus and the temp stays right at 93. I want to go to the 112mz, but don't know if I should get another Processor fan first or just use the stock Intel one.
