  • I have a question for you guys...

I was just wondering, I have a G200 (AGP) that I can't use with my VFX1 virtual reality headset. I would get into the reasons, but they're a little long winded. Anyway, is there any reason that I can't run two separate video cards? The G200 for my monitor, and lets say a ATI 3D Expression (PCI) for my headset. If it is possible, how would I get my computer to know which card to use for which applications? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, the reason i'm asking is because I really don't want to use an ATI for everyday use as you can well imagine. So if this can't be done, I've got one really expensive piece of junk.

    Hi Cmag,

    it should work.

Goto your Mobo's bios and determine the primary display adapter through the 'VGA Boot Sequence' which mostyl is defaulted to 'PCI/AGP' setting your AGP adapter to be used as 2ndary display. Change to 'AGP/PCI' if you want to use your AGP card as primary display.

Then grab PowerStrip for example which has an implementation for distinguishing between several displays for several purposes.
It should help you to setup your desired config.

        Hey Maggi,

I need a bit more help here if you don't mind. I have installed an ATI 3D Charger in my system as a secondary display and am using powerstrip as per your suggestion. The only problem is, is that I can't find anywhere in powerstrip where it is recognizing my second card. Am I missing something here? Please help.

        Thanks

        Cmag
