  • MAX hits Israel !!!

The MAX is available in israel !!!

excellnet has it in stock to order goto their online store www.exlmarket.co.il

I have a G400 32mb DH oc to 160/200 does anyone think I should upgrade to a MAX ??? is it worth it ? it costs here $269 + %17 VAT

Upgrade to a MAX? Not really I think the MAX is not nearly as overclockable as the vannilla version, so you´ll probably would end up with a few Mhz more than you get now... unless you run a weird resolution above 1600x1200, there the 360 Mhz ramdac could be handy...

Ya, my Max can only go to 154 MHz core, above that it locks up in quake3. I've heard about those famous vanillas with the fan-plug and 5 ns sgram reach 166 mhz core. now isn't that wierd?!

What is it about a beautiful sunny afternoon, with the birds singing and the wind rustling through the leaves, that makes you want to get drunk? And after you're real drunk, maybe go down to the public park and stagger around and ask people for money, and then lie down and go to sleep.

Yup, I can confirm that too.

Best I can do with the MAX is 110% with Matrox Tweak and then these little dots start appearing....read some post's of folks going to 120% with the vanilla 32's.

            Well, old news...
(Marmita, you can read my post "Is the MAX worth the Bucks?")

anyhow, $269? I thought it was $319... I don't think the price on their site includes the VAT.
I called them today, they say it takes them 7-10 days to get it. And yes, their prices mostly suck, but sometimes they have
specials like this one. Well, you can't really compare since no one else sells it in Israel to my knowledge.
But their Vanilla 32MB DH is the cheapest I could find here.

As for buying abroad, it's cheaper, once I found an on-line store that sold the MAX for $202 + some $35-$50 shipping I believe.
But remember, NO WARRANTY!!! And with all the lockups the G400s been having, I wouldn't go for it...

As for overclocking, 120% of Vanilla = 100% of MAX, so you can't just compare %s...
110% of MAX is faster than 120% of Vanilla, the question is do you really feel that difference...

            I'm still pondering...
