  • Matrox Overclocker

I was just wondering how far you guys, (no offence ladies ), are overclocking the MAX with the Matrox utility.

    110%, 120% 130% ? and still stay stable..

What levels of overclocking using Matrox Overclocker are people getting on Vanilla G400 without extra cooling?
I just got a G400 32Mb DH and would like to know what percentage I could clock to before I get a fan strapped to it
                Thanks..

I dont use the Matrox overclocker, but I do use MGA Tweak and I manage 160mhz core/200mhz memory on my OEM DH 32mb G400 w/ Pentium fan attached to heatsink. That is a 401 PLL, 2.50 gclk/wclk, 2.00 mclk.

How are you fitting your Pentium Fan to the heatsink? I have one here ready but the screws don't fit and I don't really like the idea of screwing it to the heatsink as its fairly obvious afterwards that it has been done and I don't want to invalidate the warranty.. at least not yet.. what with it only being 2 days old
Does anyone know of a nice easy way to attach them without damage?
                    Thanks again...

I screwed it on. It may leave a few grooves from the screws, but nothing that a little testers paint can't cover up

I use 116% (145/195) without a fan attached to the oem G400 SH 32MB version. Remember folks, it's only good for minor improvements at higher resolutions, getting that extra .001% clock cycle out the card isn't going to give you better performance.

I can get my Max up to 102,8% Above that, 3d games go down town.

102,8% what's the mhz of that you say? 154,2. mine barely made it to a max, but why do I see vanillas with a white fan-plug in it and 5ns sgram who can reach 166 (110,6%) with no problemo?

I could do about 112% with no problems except for TA:K on my MAX. Some tiny artifacts here and there. With MGA Tweak, I can get up to 176 core and 220 memory.

Seems to be some funny things with MGA Tweak though. If I increase the GCLK/WCLK to 300 and the MCLK to 250, I can get up to 200 core and 240 memory with no problems but my benchmarks are actually worse. Anyone know why is that?
