  • g400 + MVP3 + k6-III = AGP 2X - wow!

My G200 didn't do 2X - I'm just posting this so that the other owners of MVP3 boards won't be so reluctant to try it out...

    Same here.

    G200 - 1x DiME mode AGP
    G400 - 2x DiME mode AGP

And BTW Matrox is still the only video manufacturer to use DiME mode AGP.

I was actually able to get my G200 to do 2XDiME with my MVP3 chipset (Epox MVP3G-M mobo) with the registry 2x force, so I guess I am pretty lucky. The G400 I borrowed from a friend for a week was able to use 2XDiME without any registry force hacks, so that is pretty sweet

I've had my G200 in AGP2X mode for the past couple of weeks using G400TWEAK, and hacking the registry to put the AGP driver in Turbo mode. Plus I enabled Write Cache Pipeline and Read around Write in my FIC VA503+ rev 1.2 MVP3 motherboard's bios. Hasn't seemed to be any more unstable than usual. Bus Mastering still leads to a mushy screen though. Which reminds me that I need to test this machine with borrowed SDRAM before I send it off to my brother. Don't know when that will be though, tomorrow is my friend's bachelor party hehe.

Amazing when a plan comes together, no problems with AGP 2X here either, but I never expected to have problems.

Himself, no problems here from the start either - and after reading al thr groups etc I did expect some.

            G200 AGP2xDIME right from the start on a Tyan S1590S (MVP3 + K6-2)
