  • Have any of you got a G400 working under Linux?

I was going to download Mandrake 6.1, but wanted to know first if the ole Viper 330 was going to have to go back in the box.

I'm running Mandrake 6.1 on my machine.

Actually, the G400 is supported by XFree86 3.3.4 and above. RH 6.0/Mandrake 6.0 come with 3.3.3, and 6.1 comes with 3.3.5 (which includes bug fixes for 3.3.4).

Yes, the G400 should run fine with XFree 3.3.5.

Actually I am reading this forum in linux with my G400, using xfree86 3.3.4 server.
I am very happy with this card.

Glad to hear it, thanks guys. From the looks of things, only a few more hours of downloading to go

Any of you tried the Linux Q3 test?

Nope haven't tried the glx thing yet. Apparently it's almost as fast as Windows in some respects. They are working on getting AGP and multitexturing working.

I plan to wait till they have something good, then I'll switch

By the way, here's a link to the glx projet page:

            Have fun!

              Hey clin,
Why haven't you switched to 3.3.5? I thought it had a large number of fixes over 3.3.4.

And I'm running GLX on my G200. I haven't gotten Q3 to run, but things like XMMS's OpenGL plug-in are running respectably.
