  • Matrox DVD player problems

I can't get the DVD player that came with my G400 to work. When I press play, most of the time nothing happens, sometimes I get the title of the DVD appearing in the window bar, and I sometimes (rare) get the movie to start playing but it stops after about 5 - 10 seconds. I have been able to run DVD movies using Xing DVD software so I don't think its a setup problem.

Has anyone else had these problems?

    My system is as follows:
Azza PT-5VMD VIA MVP3 AT motherboard with AMD K6-2 450 MHz processor
G400 32MB Dual head card with rainbow runner G
Pioneer DVD 113 (or compaq DVD 113 same thing I think)
    196 MB memory.
I have changed the bios in the G400 to the latest version and also have downloaded the latest drivers.

I had a simular problem, it turned out
I had to de-select the DMA option for the CD-ROM.

In the Control Panel, System, Select CD-ROM, click on properties.

Also the CD has to be master on seperate
IDE channel from the Hard Drive.

    Its working for me now.

    Hope this helps.
