  • The "Cray" is up and running! :D

Well, guys, my Max finally made it here! (yes, from the Matrox Store ) and I got up the motivation to get this thing running. Speed is something you never quite appreciate until you make a really huge leap like this. (From PPro-166 to P3-600, and the speediest everything I could find) Got some idea when my Cheetah hard drive sucked up my Windows install like Jethro eating corn flakes, then I got the MAX running and looked at the tech demo..

    Yup.. big smile here..

Well off to bed for a few.

ElanVital S30 Server Case (hence, the "Cray" appelation)
Tyan Thunderbolt dual slot1 GX Motherboard (built in dual channel U2W SCSI)
    PIII-600MHz
    18GB U2W/LVD/SCA Seagate Cheetah HDD
    Plextor Ultraplex Wide SCSI cdrom
    Many fans..
and now.. a Matrox Millenium G400MAX!

    ------------------
    Damn this thing is fast!
    Kind Regards,

    KvH

Speaking of Cray computers, my friend recently bought two of them and is currently selling chunks of it, encased in clear resin, for conversation items. He sold (or donated, I forget which) a big chunk to a museum, I believe. He also scrapped a large part for the gold inside.

If he has anything remaining, it's in a huge werehouse somewhere in Northern California.
