  • Anyone test compatibility with G400max and DX7.0?

I wonder if any of you have tested compatibility with DX7.0? I have temporarily taken out my Max for my Banshee for UT, but hopefully that can be fixed this week. You never really realize what you had until it's gone...hehe.

Just installed it awhile ago. No problems so far but I haven't seen any big gains yet either.

I don't have any d3d games that allow benchmarking (that I know of), but my 3dmark scores didn't change at all. Seems to be smooth sailing so far.

Any idea about the optimize driver for DX7.
Is it PD 5.3 or later version?

I can note a 20% increase in framerate for UNREAL at 1024x768 (texture detail on high)

Just in case ya didnt know, you dont exactly have to take out the G400 to play UT. Just make a little txt file with the words "3dfx sucks nads" and rename it as glide2x.dll then copy it to your Windows/system folder.

Now next time you load UT, you can select the software renderer. And amazingly enough, it's actually playable on my P3-450~556. Plus I dont have to do the gfx card juggle

SEE? I dont just bitch all the time.

Yeah, I know about that, but one of my friends was coming over and wanted to see UT in accelerated mode. This Banshee's image quality really bites. I don't know why I ever bought that trash in the first place. Oh well, at least I can play Tribes now
