  • Matrox G400 Dual Lockup With Multiple Screens

Running: Windows98 on Dell Pentium II/300 w/128 meg ram (60mhz) with Phoenix Bios A08. Do not know the motherboard. SBLive in PCI and 3Com Cable Modem and USR Modem in ISA's, NEC CD-ROM and HP CD-R, fyi. (Previously ran STB 128 Velocity 4400 16 mb Video Card with no problem. It was superb. I only changed because I needed dual monitor set-up.)

The Matrox G400/32 Dual Head card (the regular 300, not the 360 "Max")freezes my entire system when using two monitors and multiple webpage screens. I have locked up and rebooted 13 times in two days. ...Yes, really. One of the main uses for multiple monitors is stock-trading. System freezes, mid-trade, requiring reboot...

Matrox 2nd level tech says she is using same system (actually even lower - PII/233) and "has no problem whatsoever". "...can't think of any reason why this would be happening...."

I am not the only one with this freeze/lock-up problem. I see that from other posts.

Is there a reasonable fix, folks, or is this a permanent bug-beta?
