  • Is Matrox in trouble???

Well I found this to be alittle odd and a litte disconsering to me. As we all know the MAX is next to impossible to get through the normal retail channels. Well I've been shopping around on the net for a Rainbow Runner add on to replace my G200 marvel when my MAX ever gets here. I went to a couple shops on the net and was shocked to see that nearly all the matrox products they would carry had either backordered or N/A next to them. This is even on G200s! I wonder if matrox is in some sort of trouble or what not. Its pretty bad when a company can't even ship its products that have been out for awhile to the retail channels...I'm starting to lose my faith in Matrox. I ordered my Marvel last November when they first came out and had a little trouble finding a place that carried them but nothing like whats going on now.

I have ordered Rainbow Runner ordered through Buy.com a couple months ago, which is on Back order. So, I too would like to hear what others have for info if any. I also have a Matrox Mystique G200 for my Video Card. Thanx.

I don't know, maybe Matrox is releasing a newer product to replace the Rainbow Runner...

and I can still get G200's fine from many places... and the G400's aren't all that difficult to get...

Though G400Max's are really only readily avalible at the Matrox store... But this might not be a Matrox fault or short-coming... could just be Retailers don't wanna stock the expensive parts till the price goes down for their cost...

In the UK, all the Matrox cards are available from one place or another.

It may only be a problem with too much success
My formerly "I only want a TNT2 Ultra" nephew just ordered a MAX from the online store.

I think they made a real marketing home-run when they came up with DualHead. DH is a real unique and useful feature. They already had the reputation for quality and they are slowly getting the reviews of their speed up.
