System halt when Bump Mapping is on

I have got my G400Max last week. I have freshed the BIOS and using PD 5.21. All the game and application is running perfect inculde Quake 2,3, Half-life ...etc (They don't work at PD 5.13). But I find that my system will halt when I run the TechDemo. The music is going on but the screen halt. Then I try the Expenable(Matrox version) and Decent 3 with patch. It's run fine at the first 2min then my system halt again.

I think it is the overclock problem. So I change the clock speed to normal. However, the problem still occur. The AGP aperture size on my system is 256MB. I have try all options but no use.

This problem just occur when the Bump Mapping is on. Pls give me suggest or soultion to fix it.

You might want to try forcing AGP X 1....it may work...its worth a try. Good Luck.

One word to the tech demo.
It takes some time with a blank screen and sound before the scene is displayed.
First time I was also little confused.
Try wait a little longer....

Thanks for tell,CoolBreeze. It's really work. After I used the RegHack to force MAX from AGP 2X to 1X. Everything is work. The TechDemo can be runing repeat and repeat. No problem with expandable and descent 3. I can overclock the Max to 157.5/210 now without any problem.

However, G400Max is a AGP 2X/4X supported card. Why I can not use 2X get a better performance ? Is it only the driver problem or it's a hardware problem ?
