  • Is my G200 maxed out.

I found the same thing when going from a PII 266 to a cel 400. QuakeII at 800x600 stayed the same, but I got about 10% boost at 640.

    Is my G200 maxed out.

I recently upgraded me CPU from a PII300 to a PIII450 and opbviuosly the ram as well. The thing is I expected a fairly good increase in games peformance, but when it came to it, in HL and Q2, and Blood2, I didn't get much of an increase at all. I was just wondering is that because somewhere between these two processors the G200 is maxed out. Not that worried as I will buy a G400 Max soon but just interested.

In quake 2 I got around a 5-7% boost, miserable really.

Before you ask this was all done with 5.13.

Well as it seems that there is a limit here, would overclocking my G200 give me a reasonable boost or not. I am asking first as I don't want to bother if it won't make much difference,i.e only gives a frame or two.

overclocking ur G200 will give u wat ur lookin for .. o/c bye 10% will give u an increase of 10% and so on
        i o/c my G200 from 84.5 to 115 (~33%) and quake2 timdemo1 at 800x600x16 goes from 30 fps to 40.5 fps ( that's about 33% too )
this is with 4.51 drivers .. with 5.13 it goes only to 38.5 fps .. while at 640x480 the boost is higher with 5.13 ..
This is on a celeron300@450 and gigabyte 6BXE
