Not good. heh. I order my G400max overnight from the Matrox store. Finally. Haven't gotten it yet. $279.15. Geezus. Guilt sets in.

And now there's rumors that the thing is ALREADY being phased out?

... Am I just bein paranoid here?

        Not rich, just impatient

The m3d? I may order one just for fun. (That's $19.95 to all you amerikanskis)...

I believe, Steve, the reason for its pricing is that it is what they call in the industry a "piece of crap".

          m3d?
My friend had one and I swear to God, Quake 2 look better with software rendering than with his m3d..

For a long time after he sold it he had this software vs. m3d bitmap he created from Q2 screenshots on his Windows desktop as a reminder of his mistake. He never bought Matrox since..

Well, convince him back to Matroxland! Make sure he knows that the m3D is not a matrox card.... big mistake by them, not to be repeated I hope!
Anyway, they're fine cards as long as you use videologic's drivers and feed Matrox' to the waste disposal unit.

              Someone I know still has a ...

              S3 Virge...

Not only does software rendering look BETTER than on the Virge, it's about twice as fast.

              (whipcrack!)

Idunno. If I can bounce off of things the way I saw other people with UTNT2's bounce off of things in Q3T, i'll be happy with me g400.

                Steve,

I'm afraid he's one of those people who buy they cards based on Tom's opinion..

Did Tom really bash the G400?

I have to control myself today. First the Max, and now I'm thinking that a PIII-600 or an Athlon and a new motherboard isn't THAT bad of an idea. eek. somebody stop me.

A laptop is advertised with a 'durable magnesium case'. Does that mean if I let it get too hot it'll flash into a blinding sphere of light?

Yeah, that would be so cool! I have to find a laptop with a magnesium case, and heat it over a bunsen. heh heh - I'll sue the owner for blinding me....

                      Ah, memories:
The m3d just made me go for a next Matrox card. It worked good with my S3 765 (boosted Trio V64+).

Still have both of them. Damn thing is: I never could get the MDK special level working.
