• Dancin' Desktop Icon Workaround HACK

This is for PD 5.13.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Matrox\PowerDesk\Ve rsion5\DesktopIconsFeatures\1(0,0,1280,1024)

{Change the numbers according to the desktop resolution this phenomenon occurs. Mine just happens in 1280x1024.}

Delete the items listed (which should be the object names found on your desktop).

Now, no more jumping icons.

I think it is safe to delete the entire key.

Ant, Kruzin, Maggi, any of u BetaBoyz out there can confirm?

JamesA

Well, I've been told by Jorden that it works for the released PD 5.21.

I will try and delete the entire key and just keep..

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Matrox\PowerDesk\Ve rsion5\DesktopIconsFeatures

empty (since Jorden seems to have separate entries for various configurations of DualMonitor and resolutions).

Hmm.. Maybe I should install 5.21 tonight...

Alright. Deleted the entire key, and my system did not kill anything. (Not even the hamster that I don't have!).

Forgot to mention that I installed PD 5.21 after deleting the key.

Of course being a nut that I am, I did not run any benchmark or play any games. Just went out with wife and bought a Sony Playstation to play Street Fighter Alpha 3.

FINALLY, my wife is hook onto a GAME! Woohoo!! Never thought a Playstation and SFA3 would do it though.

Come Sept.6, she will have no chance agains Final Fantasy VIII.. heheheh... *BIG-EVIL-GRIN*

JamesA.

Yes. I bold a lot.

JamesA (damn, he bolds alot huh?? or should that be bald ??? ),

After a reinstall of the Techdemo I temporarily had all icons on top of eachother at the top of my screen, funny sight, damn sure I didn't make a screenprint of it , but now I have automatically save/restore windows positions on... That cured it as well... But only AFTER I used your regedit-act

Jorden.

All right, (putting on my asbestos suit here) where are the font controls that will let me bold and italicize, etc.? At the risk of sounding dumb, I can't find them. Cutting and pasting doesn't work either. Looked both in NS4.0 (my normal browser) and IE.

KvH,

bold
italicize
bold/italicize

Click on edit and read the code.

JamesA who really BOLDs a LOT.

Well, I must be an idiot I still can't figure it out. Are you talking about "edit" in the taskbar? Looked in both NS and IE edit pulldowns. Couldn't find any way to bold or italicize there. What browser are you using? I use NS4.0 almost exclusively.
