Has anyone actually got a software DVD player, to output to a TV via the secondary head ?

I keep hearing conflicting stories as if you can actually output a software DVD player to a T.V.

At the moment I use Cinemaster or WinDVD.

    D'oh!

Use the Matrox one, and it works fine! Just enable DVD Max

Yes, the G400 will happily send software-decoded DVD output to your TV via DualHead. It will also do the same with any player that can use a hardware overlay for output; this includes the Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, and (IIRC) QuickTime.

The catch is that you have to be running at 1024x768 or lower, because the G400 needs to have some spare memory to create the hardware overlay surface.

BTW, in case you didn't know, the DVD player that comes with the G400 is software Cinemaster. It works and looks terrific!
