  • ANT, read this, it's pretty odd

You ran a frametest in Quake 2 in 1024 with the 5.21 drivers not tweaked. You got 44fps. I did the same thing, (format HDD, install Windows / hardware / Quake 2 / G400 5.21), ran Quake2, and I got 51 fps. But, I have a P2-350, and u have a P3-500. It this normal?

    Thanks,

    Heirauqs

There are hundreds of variables in the game that can affect scores. You can only compare your numbers to your machine, or a machine you are positive has an identical .cfg.

A couple of little differences in the Q2 autoexec.cfg can result in huge differences.

I'm sure my Vsync is off tho, I get the same scores in 320x240 than in 1024x768. But, I did everything Ant said to turn it off...

OK - ya lost me a little there.

First you where comparing your scores to Ant's, then your own scores at different resolutions

Anyway - if you are getting identical scores, it's probably because your CPU is the bottleneck in your system at this point.

Either that, or the reg hack went to the wrong key in the registry, and did not do it's job (see Ant's vsynch thread for the details)

That's because R0M told me not to compare with ANT because he said that my Vsync was probably "off". (I forgot to mention it)
I dont think a P2-350 limits me that much, givng me the same result in 320 and in 1024!
          My G400 is in 00 00 00 00
I'lll keep playing with the settings to get it working
          Thanks for your help
