  • New NT Drivers any better for G200?

    Hello all,
With all the early bad results from the newly released 5.21 drivers for the G400, has anyone had a chance to test the also newly released NT4.22 drivers with the G200?

Also, when installing 4.x drivers, what is the best way to uninstall the previous, is it ok to follow the same uninstall instrcuctions for the 5.x drivers (Other than not using the utility)

    TIA,
    Gretz99

I don't have any benchmarks, but is 32 bit Z buffer a new option for NT?

I just opened up powerdesk after installing 4.22 and that seems to be a new option on my NT computer.

Thx for the reply. Just wondering if the Virtual desktop feature is still retained in the NT 4.22 drivers? I guess I am the only one still using this feature In fact, it's partly the reason I am running NT now

        Shamelessly stolen from the Murc:

        Driver Tests
        13:36 GMT

Andrew Roberts mailed me about the new Win 9x and NT 4 drivers. I presume this is on a G200, the problems I reported on earlier seem to be G400 related as I've heard from several G200 owners who are very happy with the new 5.21 drivers.

I've done some 16 and 32 bit testing this morning using the new drivers against the previous release. I didn't use Quake but rather some open GL apps and View Perf 6.1. The major difference in the ICD is the rendering of vectors. These are at least 2-3x faster and correct some bugs seen in the view perf tests. The 9X driver was no slower in these tests than the previous version and slightly (10%) faster at 32 bit colour depth. The NT driver is a huge improvement. The performance is upto the level of the 9X driver at 16 bit and 20% greater at 32 bit. Again the vector drawing is must faster, but all rendering is improved. Again no quake tests... I tested at both 1024x768 and 1280x1024.
