  • Video Filtering gone 5.13?

    Hi folks!

When I play a MPG or AVI-Videofile in 1024x768 and scale it to fullscreen, the picture doesn´t get filtered anymore!

In Powerdesk 4.51 everything was fine.

I tried to fix it by setting the YUVFiltering=1 registry value, but it has no effect.

Can any of the Matrox buddies confirm this, or have a workaround for it?

Video looks very ugly with all those jagges edges!

    HW: MGA G200 AGP 8MB SGRAM, PD 5.13, DX6.1, WIN98, 192 MB RAM, Mediaplayer 6.1.

    Bye,

    Fract

I experienced something similar, but only just after my monitor has been in standby mode, due to lack of mouse/keyboard activity.
Restarting the player solves it for me.

        Update:

I tried for hours to get the problem fixed, but the video output is still not filtered. It seems that the output does not go through DirectVideo anymore. I reinstalled DirectX6.1, Mediaplayer 6.1 and PD 5.13. No change! Any suggestions?

                  PROBLEM SOLVED!

After chasing for hours for that Filtering thingie, I found the solution. I compared my registry and .INI files to hunt the "bug". Hold on everybody!!!!!!!!!!

When setting the following value in WIN.INI (yes: WIN.INI)
                  [drawdib]
                  DVA=0

Filtering (hardware video acceleration) is DISABLED!! I don't know which program did that stupid thing. But this should be a nice hint to every videocard user and should spare them hours or days of bug hunting!
                  So watch out for DVA=0.
                  I still can't believe it....
