  • Are all Vanillas dressed as Maxs ? I guess so..

I got my G400 32MB vanilla today but...

Interesting... My board has a Fan conector and my memory are 5ns
More interesting is that my cousin got the same card 1 day before and guess what...
    Fan connector and 5ns memory!!!

    Just thinking...
Do you guys think that because the demand of G400max boards, Matrox is making all boards with Max high quality components?

Sadly, my ramdac is just 300 mhz.....
By the way. It took me about 3 hours to install this thing..
Conflicting with my Promise UltraAta 66 controler,
Than after conflicting with my Network card (USR)
Finally after reinstalling win98se again. (I really had to...)

I will keep everybody posted about overclocking this board since tomorrow I'm getting a Lasanha combo fan.

    Take care.!!!

Or.... there are so many MAX'es failing so they have problems filling the demand.

Either way, Matrox is doing a great job!

    Cheers,
    Fish.

I suppose it might be possible for the retail G400 boards but the it's not true for the OEM boards. I have G400 32MB Dh board with only 6ns ram. I can overclock it to 141/190 but if I try for 195 it'll start dispaying screen errors after about 10 minutes of Q3. I guess I was unlucky. Story of my life when it comes to buying computer stuff

My G400 32 Mb is a retail one, made in ireland, and has 6 ns SEC ram. It goes up to 153/204 though. Me happy
