Hi,
First of all i just wanted you both to read this and so i could bring you upto speed on my scratchpad lockup in MSP 5.2 with my Marvel G400

No matter what i do to my system it wont work properly????

until... i put on the vid tool beta driver 1.50 for a try
and they worked perfectly...
i just get green screen flashes when i try to play an mjpeg file????

so i dont understand?????

i can either have... working mjpeg playback
but no msp compatability, or working editing but no correct playback...
(by correct i mean that it wont playback on my monitor, its fine through the tv)

or can it be incorporated into the next vidtools

i noticed that in the list of fixes for the latest (1.51) it mentioned a scratchpad lockup fix...... maybe it wasnt fixed enough

Try the following suggestion that I got from a friend.
In Ulead Video Editor go to View/Display mode
and click on Filename mode audio doesn't matter. Now load a clip into the time line and try the scratch pad.

I really dont know what to do now
ive spent the best part of 2 weeks fiddling with it trying to get it to go.
ive tried 5.30 and 1.51 as it should be
and 5.25 and 1.50, even mixed them up a little and still no joy.

just when i think ive fixed it, a reboot later its back to locking-up

Now i dont know what to do.
its obvious it doesnt work, Yet This_idiots has said ot works fine with MSP, even Ulead tech support dont know whats going on they said it should work

Is there something wrong with my marvel G400? would i be able to swap it for a new one (i got it from the matrox online store)

Apart from this bug though its fine, the 3d performance more then impressed me, so surely its a software/driver issue.

all i know is that my priamry need for a pc is non-linear editing, and since i use MSP for this, i have been hampered by the compatability issue.

the one thing i can think of is that something in my motherboard bios isnt set right?

the video shadowing, ide buffering, ect
ive already tried various combinationsa dn setting my bios to default and optimom settings, ive even tried using windows UDMA drivers but no joy...

MBoard= Jetway BX2000 using latest bios and latest 4 in 1 Via drivers

ive never had major trouble with a matrox card before im not used to it :O(

I don't think that the problem is with your Marvel, but it might have something to do with the sound card. Try loading a clip into Ulead and remove the audio portion of your file. Now open the scratch pad, is there still a problem?

It seems that from reading This_idiots "G400 review feedback?" that you had it fixed on and off, so if possible could you try another sound card?

Its really strange..
if i uninstall MSP and all my drivers
then put them all back on
it works...
then install powerdesk
vid tools
and MSP
it works peffectly till i reboot
then it goes scewy
ill try that playback a file without audio in a second
i have a soundblaster live card
using liveware 3.0
i never had any probem with it with my Marvel G200
il just go try that now :O)

I thought yoe were onto something then
but no, same problem

the only other thing i can think of is that i read some where that the G400 like to be on its own IRQ, mine is sharing IRQ 11 with IRG Steering
and also my SBlive is sharing IRQ 5 with another IRQ steering.

could this be causing the prob?, if so how do i change the IRQ's???

Oliver, I was using Liveware 3.0 on my Marvel G200 fine

I got my marvel G400 and went out and bought a new Motherboard and P3, so i didnt try it in my existing setup, but everything else is fine, so could a motherboard conflict really be casuing it. I cant re-install my old board or try my G200 marvel either, cos i sold them off to a friend

Hi CMB,

uninstall Ulead, delete your entire contents of your temp file and re-install ulead again.

Do you have Quicktime 4 installed?

Can you post your Ulead32.ini file here?

REM out what ever you can in either autoexec and config and reboot. Now before you open ulead close all TSR's (Ctrl/Alt/Delete.

the image froze after a second
it didnt even work before reboot this time
