Where to launch Gx00VBE/VBEXT.EXE

Hi: Few questions below:

1. Should I use either one of Gx00VBE or VBEXT only and not both at the same time??

2. I have a boot menu setup for W98-GUI-boot or pure-dos-boot. Should I run these utility for only DOS or do I need to load them for W98 GUI mode too??

Run one or the other, depemding on which gives you the vesa mode support you need.
It is primarily for DOS stuff. Windows has no need for it at all.

Only bother with it if you need to run a DOS app that uses a vesa mode that the G400 doesn't directly support (mostly low-res stuff).

Most people have no real use for it...
