No surprise probably to any here, the September '99 MaximumPC review bestows a 9 Kick Ass! on the G400 MAX!
Probably no surprise as well is the Open GL ICD minuses which probably kept it from the coveted 10 rating.
Matrox has come a long way since this mag, formerly "boot," has bashed their prior products until the G200 review which they remarked as "chopping its way out of the 3D ghetto".
While some may say they never pay much attention to magazine reviews, I have always felt they were truthful and purchased a G400 based on their July '99 article "3D Card Crisis '99".
