  • MSP crashes

    When I try to create a video, under NT4, from 4 or 5 files I captured with pc-vcr one of three things happens:
    - NT crashes(blue screen saying acess violation) and this is the more frequent;
    - Dr. Watson closes the applicattion;
    - I receive a message saying I'm out of hd space.
    Has anyone had this syntoms?

    By default MSPro saves its temp files to the default Win9x/WinNT4 temps directory. If the boot drive fills up then you'll get an out of memory error. These files can be huge so this can happen rather easily.

    The best solutions are to;

    1. add the following lines to your autoexec.bat file:

    SET TMP=X:\TEMP
    SET TEMP=X:\TEMP

    where X is a directory on your capture drive.

    2. set the file/preferences in MSP to store temporary files to the same X:\TEMP directory.
