Hi..
please note.. long post, but i want to share what has happened to me:
I got my MAX yesterday and instantly i booted my comp. removed all matrox drivers, shuuted down, ripped out my mill g200 8mb,
threw in the G400 MAX, booted, installed drivers, rebooted.. and then the trouble begon.....
windows started, and the first thing i did was upping the resolution to 1152x864 32bit (i have Iiyama vision master pro 400 monitor)
the moment after i pressed ok, windows killed itself.....
i rebooted and it freezes at the desktop...
reinstalled drivers.. nothing happens, still freezes at desktop... tried everything i could think of. didn't work, time to go to sleep. next day, push on button, monitor light stays orange... ripped out the g400 pushed in the g200 booted... and freezes at desktop... changed the card again, booted, and still he freezes at desktop.
did format c: reinstalled windows, installed the G400, and it worked!!.
the only problem i found was that the explorer window chrashes after a copy, move,delete command (never had that before), i haven't tried any game yet. so don't know if that will work (i think it will)
Can anybody explain to me, why installing a videocard needs a complete reinstall of win98??? It wasn't a trashed or corrupted windows, i reinstalled it 3 weeks ago..
i don't know if the explorer-lockups are caused by the g400, but they occur after installing the card..
I must admitt that the G400 ROCKS!!, the visual quality in windows it better then the g200..

Due to IRQ shortage i've disabled the serial controllers and primary IDE. (G400 now at irq 4)
