  • PD 5.30 with RR-G: Some say it can.

I've had people tell me that with the new video tools they've had the RR-g running with PD 5.30 on their G400's.

All I get is no buttons when the thing starts up.

This "no buttons" theme has cropped up a few times recently. The fix (apparently) is to make sure that you install VTs into the DEFAULT directory

Copy & Pasted from ANT's front page:

      ---------------------------------------------
      Buttonless
One problem that has arisen with the PowerDesk 5.30 and Video Tools 1.51 combination is the buttonless control of PC-VCR. This seems to happen when the Video Tools are not installed to their default directory. This can be fixed by uninstalling Video Tools and reinstalling them to their default directory. The problem seems to be that the setup routine is not registering the ActiveX control that draws the buttons, another fix is to register this manually. Open up a DOS box and go to the directory you installed the Video Tools to then enter the following:

      > c:\windows\system\regsvr32 rrbuttons.ocx

      ---------------------------------------------

      OK Hope that helps AMY

Take a look at the matrox homepage. 5.30 now supports RRG.

I had also the probs with the buttons, but after an second install to the same custom directory it works!

I had trouble with the "no buttons" thing, but I had installed into the default directory. If that happens, follow the advice of the installer (unlike I did) and reboot.
