"Ati all in wonder 128 vs RR-S"

Does anyone know of compare of ati's 128 and the marvel, rr-s? Im thinking of buying the ati 128 but dont know if that will improve my video quality. Does anyone tried ati's 128? Does the mpeg-2 improve the quality.

My system: p200mmx,96mb,mystiq220+rrs.

This question comes up fairly frequently, and I don't think that anyone has done a head-to-head on the cards. However, my understanding is that the AIW captures ONLY in software compression whereas all the Matrox devices are hardware MJPEG assisted

I have seen both side by side as by husband has the 128. I currently have the RR-S (will install the Marvel G-400 this week). In a comparison between the two, there is no comparison. The 128 was apparently made for very short, small captures for the web, etc. with no real control over what it does. If you're even semi-serious about video editing, don't bother with the 128.
