MAX and SBLIVE!

My system is a Dell TPS 450, I substituted the OEM nVidia TNT board and the Cinemaster hardware decoder card for the MAX.

Everything runs smooth.

Bought an SB Live! value card on Saturday to substitute the OEM Montego II.

Now the weird problem:

When I put in the SB, I get no videosignal anymore, sytems gives me a POST beepcode :
beeeeeeep - beep - beep saying their is no videocard inserted according to the manual.

First Thoughts: OH NO please not my MAX, so I put in the old TNT again and all worked, the SB Live too !?!.

Then I put back in the MAX, and the old Montego too and everything runs well as before.

Repeated the procedures several times with the same results:
SB live in, with the MAX, no videosignal at all!

Can 't figure out what could cause this.
The mobo is a Dell version of the Intel 440 BX2.
My guess is that the SB is faulty, but then again: it is working well with the old TNT videocard.

Any ideas someone please?

Try different slot for the Live!.

Put the SB live in a different slot, no cure.

Then I put in both the SB live and the Montego II and guess what everything works!!
Don 't understand why, but what the heck
All the PCI slots are occupied now.

Both soundcards are working so I can choose now between Aureal 3D and Sb EA, what a luxury.
