    At least as far as I can tell.
    That would be a welcome feature, to disable the palletized textures. I remember when it worked, back in the 4.11 (wasn´t it?).
    Despite the reg hack (I ran regedit and confirmed, it´s there) Quake2 runs with 8-bit textures, and those Microsoft games (Monster truck madness, c.a.r.t, motorcross madnes demo) still display the sky as a ugly 8 bit texture - that was the major reason because I used to enjoy that hack so much.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Hi Nuno,

    that patch is for setting up the PowerDesk, not the game ...

    What I mean is, when you set Q2 to use palettized textures, it does, no matter what your PD is set to.

    IMO, that patch forces PD to generate palettized textures from high or true color textures in order to increase raw performance.

    When there are no high or true color textures available, I doubt that PD could re-render those to true color.

    Maybe Haig or r0m could confirm or deny that ?

      Hmm, I see the point. I just thougt it would do the same that reg hack back in the 4.11 day did - it really disabled palletted textures use. I can remember q2 didn´t work if I set it to 8 bit textures, and motorcross madness showed a preety sky (as it used to be in my m3d).
      So I though this hack would work in the same way.
