• Quake2 Benchmarks on G400

Hi Guys !

I thought you might be interested in some scores

My relevant system specs are:

Asus P2B-S @ 112MHz FSB - Bios 1009 final
Celeron300A @ 504Mhz
128MB 7ns SDRAM
G400 DualHead 32MB SGRAM @ 201 MHz memory clock

Unfortunately I forgot to bring my config, but I'll post it if you want me to ...

And here we go:

Quake2 - 16 bpp colordepth - 16 bit Zbuffer - VSync off

640x480
Timedemo1 - 82.7 fps
Timedemo2 - 79.0 fps
Massive1 - 59.7 fps
Crusher - 40.7 fps

800x600
Timedemo1 - 79.0 fps
Timedemo2 - 76.8 fps
Massive1 - 58.8 fps
Crusher - 40.2 fps

1024x768
Timedemo1 - 71.1 fps
Timedemo2 - 70.1 fps
Massive1 - 57.0 fps
Crusher - 39.1 fps

1152x864
Timedemo1 - 61.7 fps
Timedemo2 - 61.4 fps
Massive1 - 53.8 fps
Crusher - 37.7 fps

1600x1200
Timedemo1 - 35.2 fps
Timedemo2 - 35.3 fps
Massive1 - 35.0 fps
Crusher - 29.4 fps

...

All tests were run 5 times and I picked the 2nd highest reported framerate. As you can guess, this took quite a while, therefore I 'only' made the 16bpp & 16bit Zbuffer tests. Updates to follow ...

Maggi - these were with released drivers? How come you're beating me then? Damn you to hell and back!

LOL

I forgot to mention: public PD 5.13.020

And it must be related to the fullspeed L2 cache ... I bet you'd beat me in Crusher in the high resolutions.
Could you verify that ?

...and to be a total simp: where can you find the Quake2 timedemos? I have the Quake2 demo (38MB version), but have seen not a thing about the timedemos.
And, damn, I was happy as hell to see that 25% increase in OGL framerates in Tirtanium. I thought I had gotten somewhere when I saw that 25.1 in 800X600X16. If my girlfriend does go into graphic design as planned, that will be all the further justification I need to get a G400

Timedemos 1 & 2 are build in

'map demo1.dm2' and 'map demo2.dm2'

The others are available here (Massive1 & Crusher)
