  • Haig/Beta Testers - Strange new problem PD513

When I log onto the net my IE5 window rapidly switches between maximised and restored condition for most of the time it takes the initial page to load, then it reverts to the normal maximised condition. This only occurrs at login and started immediately after loading the new PD513? Have any of you encountered this little gem yet? Any assistance would be appreciated, TIA
    Ron

Addendum: For those who would jump on this to call everything this driver did bad, I tried out Q2, runs real smooth and fast, as does HL. In addition, I did a run on Final Reality, my 32bit scores are now what my 16bit scores were before the update, with the exception of the AGP, which is way up for me, 112+ on 16MB test size.

      Ron,
Try turning off the PD feature "Window Positions / Automatic" and see if that cures it.

I also get strangeness with IE5... if I insert a zip disk then IE5 tries to adjust it's window size until the zip calms down, then it reverts to how I had it.

I have posted similar elsewhere, no flames for cross-posting please because this thread seemed the best one to add it to

I'll try the Windows/Postions when I get home...

In one of the beta revisions I used, the same happened to me when I used compuserve. I assumed it was just my PC... interesting though.

            Hi guys,

We get the same problem with Eudora Pro each time we change resolution.

            Thanks,

            Haig

              Is the common factor IE5?

              Cheers

                    Joe et al
Turning off the Windows postion/auto seems to have done the trick, thanks.

Netscape 4.61 has the same problems...

With an addenum, but I don't know if this is Windows-related: The first NS window opens strange, updating the left-corner with an extra refresh, garbling up the sys-tray and refreshing that then... Now I suspect a virus, or something's eating Windows98...
