  • PD5.13: Science Faction

After all this aggro over the last couple of weeks how about a couple of apt Babylon 5 monologues:

It began in the Earth year 199x, with the founding of the best of the Matrox stations, located deep in neutral space. It was a port of call for refugees, smugglers, businessmen, diplomats . . . and travelers from a hundred worlds. Could be a dangerous place -- but we accepted the risk, because Matrox graphics cards were our last, best hope for kick-ass graphics.

    Under the leadership
of its final commander, Ant, MURC was a dream given form: a dream of a Forum without war, when species from different worlds could live side by side in mutual respect. A dream that was in danger as never before, by the arrival of lamer newbies on a mission of destruction.

MURC was the best of the Matrox stations. This is its story.

    Few years on...

Lennier: It was the year of fire,

Zack Allen: the year of destruction,

G'Kar: the year we took back what was ours.

Lyta Alexander: It was the year of rebirth,

Vir Cotto: the year of great sadness,

Marcus Cole: the year of pain,

Delenn: and the year of joy.

Londo Mollari: It was a new age.

Stephen Franklin: It was the end of history.

Susan Ivanova: It was the year everything changed.

Michael Garibaldi: Powerdesk 5.13 and final OpenGL.

    John Sheridan: The place: MURC.

    Kickass.

    Cheers

If anybody would like more B5 'spoofs', please visit the Edinburgh Alliance website at http://www.ph.ed.ac.uk/~gowdy/SciFi/EdAli/ (Follow the link for London Concert) as we have produced a CD full of riotous songs (from the anthemic 'Army of Light' (YMCA) to the 'Theme from Delenn Ranger')

      Craig

PS anybody interested in the CD, please mail me for more details.

Sorry but couldn't resist one more monologue from the final series of B5

Kosh: And so it begins ....

Wind-Sword Warrior: You are talking though a hole in your butt.

Jeffrey Sinclair: What do you want?

G'Kar: No one here is exactly what he appears.

Jeffrey Sinclair: Nothing's the same any more.

General Hague: Maggi is being leaving.

Londo Mollari: Why don't you eliminate the entire Matrox website while you're at it?

Elric: I see a great PowerDesk reaching out of the screen ....

        Sebastian: Who are you newbies?

ISN Reporter: President Ant has signed a decree today declaring martial law.

John Sheridan: These flames have forced us to declare moderation.

        Bester: .... Beta drivers ....

John Sheridan: .... unless you people get off your encounter-suited butts and do something!

Zathras: You are the one who was.

Kosh: If you go to Matrox's website, you will die.

Lorien: Why are you lamers here?

Lorien: Do you have anything worth living for?

Delenn: I think of my beautiful forum in flames ....

John Sheridan: .... like tossers in the playground ....

John Sheridan: Now get the hell out of our Forum!

John Sheridan: We are here to place Glenbrook under arrest.

        Mods of those at:
