  • G-200 works great on my super 7 ali board

Well I just switched over to matrox. I got a refurbished
g-200 slapped in 8 megs of mem I had traded for and loaded
her up. I gotta say I'm impressed. It works great
on my asus p5a. Looks sharp with both windows and with
linux. I even set the agp turbo mode with no problems.
I'm very impressed with this little card.

    Hey mulerider,

Being the proud owner of two EPoX brand VIA MVP3 chipset motherboard I do have to agree with you. Althought the G200 may not be the fastest card in the world it has been the most stable, even with the 4.51 drivers. Visual quality has always been number one to me and from what I have seen so far even the G200 is still tops in that catergory only being bested by the G400.

Which leads me to a question. My display properties are as follows.
      Ramdac speed 250.
      VGA bios version 1.6
      display driver 4.11.01.4330
      VDD version 4.11.01.4330
      matrox power desk version 4.33.045
am I running the latest drivers?
If not where are the latest drivers located and what will I gain if I switch over to them

      Rick

PS I consider the $29 I spent on this card to be the best money I've spent on any computer part. I read a lot of hostility on this board but I've gotta tell you this card fits my bill to a tea.

Goto www.matrox.com/mga/drivers/home.htm and get the latest drivers version 4.51 along with the latest BIOS version 2.3 which is in the unified bios file setup351.

mulerider, you may also want to get over to the Asus site and d/l the latest AGP drivers. That is if you haven't done so yet. I have noticed some speed increase. But more importantly better stability. The latest greatest is version 1.6.
