  • D3D and OpenGL games not working in Win2k

I need some help, I just reinstalled my G400 after trying out a GeForce 2 MX (it wasn't that good) and I can't seem to get any of my Direct 3D games or OpenGL games to work. I had them working before I installed the MX. Drivers 5.51 and 5.52 don't work. My computer specs are in the sig. I would appreciate any help at all.

did you fully uninstall the GeForce 2 MX drivers?
if you're still using SP1, have your applied this patch?

I uninstalled with the uninstall file in add/remove programs. I also have SP2 installed

An update to my original topic, it seems that this problem is only confined to 5.52 and 5.51. It maybe it could involve the AGP bus as 5.33(which work) doesn't use it. I still could use the help with getting 5.52 or 51 to work as I prefer them.

Make sure your desktop's color depth is set to either 16 bit or 32 bit in Display properties/settings.

Also when you installed your drivers, how did you install them? In other words, did you just point windows to the drivers when it detected your card, or did you hit cancel, then run the setup? (you should hit cancel and run the setup!)

          Rags,

I always have the desktop set to 1152*864@32 so that's not the problem, with the 5.51 and 52 drivers I canceled the detect new drivers and ran the setup program.

I think I fixed my problem. All I had to do was force AGP 1X instead of 2X.

            Thanks for the replies.
