Need for speed porsche in w2k

Probably someone had asked this question before but i can't find the answer.

How to run this game in w2k pro ?
Both me and a friend tried but the game hang at the loading screen after the initial movie.

Try to install latest compatibility patch for win2k, create a shortcut to the game .exe, select compatibility mode -> win95 or win98.

I´m not really sure about NFS, but EA games aren´t much friendly with win2k. Not sure why they deliberatly choose not to support win2k, because when fooled as if they were running in win9x, they run fine.

My NFS: Hot Pursuit works fine, and I think it predates Porsche Unleashed. Quite a few suggestions on NTCompatible, check it out.

The problem is a massive memory leak. If you run task manager before you start the game, you'll notice it consumes all physical memory and swap space (about a gig on my boxes). The fix is simple. Set a fixed swap file space of about 100mb, reboot, and play the game!

The demo worked fine for me (fixed swapfile of 384 MB)
