  • Giants Demo

    I've got a pentium 350, MSI 6119 mobo, 128mb ram and a g200. Has anyone had the problem where the giants demo is basically just orange shapes? I tried all the settings and various resolutions in the game and on my desktop but still no joy. By uninstalling and reinstalling the latest matrox drivers the game worked once, even the speed of the game was good, but since then it has reverted back to orange blobs. Any ideas? Thanks

    first of all your computer sucks. i have a p3 600 with a g400 max and 256mb of ram and i rarely get above 20fps when looking at a wall. dont bother.

      GBates32, the man is asking about display errors, not about fps...

      And how about a little more of "mine is bigger than yours game": I have a 1Ghz Thunderbird/256 Mb/G400@150/200 and Giants demo runs beautifully. I would say averaging 40 fps at 960x720x32. So YOUR computer sucks.

          Yes I know I do'nt have state of the art, but believe it or not, most of the current games work fine. For instance the detail and smoothnes of play on counterstrike is amazing. But back to my original problem, Giants works fine (very playable) when I uninstall and reinstall the matrox drivers. But if I try the game i.e. the next day, it's back to orange foreground but natural sky. So some other prog seems to be corrupting the drivers for that game only???

            Could you give a list of your irq assignment from device manager?

                Yes, though I had the same problem with my previous driver (6.21 I think) which is why I changed. I've also noticed the trees in the forground of the Links 2001 demo change to mush at the same time as the Giants demo gets corrupted. Maybe it's games released in 2001.... ;8¬}

                  No problems there, which "new" drivers are you running? 6.23?
