• GLquake or GLWQ Glide ?

Hi all, I was wondering if this card (g400max)can run these games. I use sli voodoo's just for glquakeword only and feel its a waste of pci slots. I havent been up to date on the latest game support so any help would be appreciated.

regards

Yes, the G400 MAX will probably run them as good as the Voodoo2's in fact (well, it might, but I think either will offer more than adequate performance).

Anyway, all you have to do is head over to Matrox's website, and specifically the drivers section. Get some recent drivers and rip out those damn V2s

Once that's done, come back in here and tell is how well everything is running...

Regards,

It seems the turbogl during setup doesn’t even find quake directory
or the glqw or glquake executables. It seems to have found quake2 & halflife on my machine and installed to those games. I removed the 3dfx drivers and disabled the cards via device manager before hand. But it also says in the readme nothing about quake support (only quake2&3). Now when I try to launch the glqw.exe I get the message "GLIDE2X.DLL, was not found" .Is there a hack I need to perform or do I maybe need a glide wrapper of some sort ?

Well, Quake1 isn't officially supported by TurboGL, but it has been confirmed that it works. Just remove any OpenGL32.dll you find in the Quake1 directory, and copy the TurboGL file from the Q2 dir into the Q1 dir, and it should work.

Thanks snake, GLquake & GLQW(online) work and seem to play fast (130fps demo2). Its just very dark , any tips on how to up the gamma while leaving my desktop alone ?Im using the latest PD6.50 & turbo driver 1.30. On two starts its got really laggy & bugged out and required a restart. Is there a better combo of drivers to use ? one a side note,I tried running glqw from 2k but no good Is the turbo non compatable in 2k ? My online gameplay is a bit better with win2k's tcp/ip so that was my final goal but ill take it one step at a time.

thanks again

TGL doesn't support Win2K. For gamma, there's a program called idGamma that should do the trick.
