  • Anyone else having problems playing SpaceTripper?

I was trying to play a small side scroller game demo called SpaceTripper -- grab it from http://www.avault.com/pcrl/demo_temp...e=spacetripper ... Every time I see the training ground level screen to start playing, the game crashes with an unknown error. I did this twice already. Every time I try to go back to the game or load another game like Quake 3 Arena, the system (no picture) gets stuck. One time it said crash in DDHELP.EXE and had to do a hard reset.

I tried booting Windows 98 in clean boot, but that didn't help. I did get to record the crash with Dr. Watson. You can view the log at: http://apu.edu/~philpi/temp/SpaceTri...00ICDCrash.txt ...

    My system configuration:
Intel Pentium III Katami/Slot 1 600 Mhz CPU (512KB cache), ASUS P3B-F -- 440BX (latest BIOS; Award Modular BIOS), 100 Mhz bus, 256 MB of SDRAM (Generic 128 MB PC100 + 128 MB Kingtson PC133), ATX Full Tower Case, 300W generic power supply, 2 ISA, 3 PCI, 1 AGP, 1 Shared PCI/ISA Slot, 2 USB ports, 512K L2 cache, IBM P72 17" monitor (6556 03N), Matrox Millenium G400 32 MB DualHead, Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! Platinum (not using LiveDrive), Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-M1212 6X/32X ATAPI/IDE CD-ROM drive, Plextor PX-W1210 PlexWriter (12/10/32A; IDE), external USR 33600 Sportster Faxmodem (Model: 0413; Product Code: 000839-03), 6.4 GB Quantum Fireball EIDE (6.4EX-A) HDD, Quantum Fireball Plus LM 15 GB 7200 RPM EIDE HDD, a 2-buttons PS/2 Logitech mouse, 3Com Fast EtherLink XL 10/100 Mb TX Ethernet NIC (3C905B-TX), Windows 98 (using Internet Explorer v5.5), two regular computer fans (CPU and normal), 1 custom fan, 1 HDD cooler, a HP DeskJet 560c printer, and an APC Back-UPS 650VA. Yamaha Sondius XG SoftSynthesizer v1.0 for better MIDI in Windows 98. System is not overclocked and running MS DirectX 8, disabled Active Desktop, using a Belkin OmniCube (2-port; KVM -- excluding the notebook), and on a 8-ports NetGear DS108 Hub 10/100 base for LAN.

I look forward to receiving replies soon.

Note: If the Dr. Watson log file is missing, then it most likely mean it was resolved or I gave up.
