6.21 and half-life CS. Complete freeze!!

Hi !
I don't understand. I installed drivers 6.21 and now I can't play half-life/CS at all in Opengl. Just before I can see the first game screen in 3D, it freezes completely. I did not had this problem with 5.52 drivers. The funny thing is, I had it working with 6.21 for a while then suddenly stopped working. I tried reinstalling hl and Cs and the drivers and its nogo.

I have an Athlon 600 with K7m and sb live everything up to date.

Seriously... I really don't know why this is the ONLY game doing so !

Wow, this sounds like the nightmare I was having earlier this year with my G200 Marvel. I bought a VIA chipset (Asus P34VX) motherboard, updated the latest drivers for it, and NO WAY could I get Half-Life to run with any Powerdesk drivers than 5.41 (with 1.52 vid tools). These drivers came out last February. I tried 5.5 (or whatever it was called) and it just hung my machine every time I ran the DirectX 3D rendering test.

Anyone else having this problem?

have you changed anything recently on your pc apart from the driver?
is your desktop at 16 or 32 bit colour?
a full list of your irqs may reveal something glaringly obvious!

These 6.21 drivers suck big. I loose about 14fps in UT compared to the 6.10. In Counter Strike, the menu is still trying to overlap which supposed to be one of the fixes. With the same settings, using 3DMark 2000 with PD6.21= 3002, with PD6.10= 3137. I'll wait for the next version of PD.
