    put these lines in /etc/XF86Config

    Section "Module"
    Load "glx.so"
    EndSection

also, im not 100% sure, but i think the demo only has support for 3dfx cards, as well as the UT demo... which i havent got working... so there is no point in trying really....

but if you have the full version of Q3, it will work, read the instructions at www.lokigames.com , there should be sufficient info to get you started...

You're... let me get this straight... playing Quake under a UNIX variant? On a PC?Quake 1?

        Err...

        1. This is the wrong forum. Not to be rude, but very few of us can help you here - try the "alternative lifestyles" forum.

        2. This is reason #864,325,411 why Windows will remain the desktop and gaming OS of choice for the forseeable future.

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
        I would still get screwed

gurm: i think its acceptable to post here, linux or not, he has a question on gaming with matrox hardware, and i think he will get the most responses in this forum... i know i did...

the alternative lifestyles forum is ANYTHING related with other OS's and matrox.... not specific to gaming...

            jeneag,

You posted this to Alternative Lifestyles and there were two people who tried to help. What happened? Did the suggestions not work? In any case, please continue the thread in that forum and do not cross-post.
            http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000388.html

Two points I would like to make:

            1. Plenty of ppl read the AL forum -- hardly any questions go unanswered, no matter what the subject. No need to post in this forum.
            2. Please leave advocacy out of troubleshooting. It neither helps anyone and sometimes is just another source of misinformation.

            Thanks,
            Rahul
