  • Why now hardly any TFC servers?

I'm clearly missing something. When I use the in-game "update" of servers in TFC, I get only 35-40 servers, total. Clearly something's awry. The only filter I have on is TFC. I am using the most recent update (the one with the maps Avanti, Casbah, and flag run). What am I doing wrong? It seems like it's just refreshing, not updating. I haven't tried gamespy or quaketool, or the likes, because I haven't needed them in the past. Let's see, a quick trip to Gamespy's site shows 1123 TFC servers with ~6000 players. A problem with WON?

Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

    John

    Dunno.
    I don't use the in-game server finder.
Using PingTool (www.pingtool.com) I am finding well over 1000 TFC servers, with 7700+ total combined HL servers.
    Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

johnny ray... its cos CS is kicking ass.... that mod is so good and popular that many tfc servers are converting to CS..... and long ago it took over TFC as the most popular MOD for half-life....

but yes, as kruzin said... there are still ample tfc servers for ya... im sure there should be a good 400 minimum....

Must have been something up with WON. It's back to normal (~ 1000 TFC server).

            Ahartman,

Concerning FLF, see my other post in this forum. Have been playing FLF....very amusing/entertaining. Isn't the music in the bar (in the map bier?) hilarious? Great music to unload your 3 clips of AK5 ammo by.

They'd whip you if they heard you referring to FLF 1.0 as a beta! Actually they are suppose to release an update (more visible skin colors for dark maps, etc.) later this week. I'm looking forward to it.

            See you there,

            John (aka Dr_John)
