Error when installing and trying to play Quake 3 Arena.

Okay, just installed quake3....load it up it pops back to the blue window on start up and gives me this error, "User interface is Version 4, expected 3", i installed all the matrox files i needed to play, still something wrong though obviously! please help!

try uninstalling Q3, make sure everything has gone including the Q3
folder, if the folder is left behind after the uninstall just delete it.
Install Q3 again then the patches again.
