  • counter-strike problems

i was using 5.13 drivers cos i found them the best, and i was playing in D3D cos the opengl drivers were crappy and performed poorly...

but i heard that matros' opengl drivers has matured in version 6.04...... unfortunately i cant try it:

usually it takes me two attempts to actually connect, one precaches, and the other actually connects... dont ask me why... cos i dunno

unfortunately.. when i try opengl the second time i try to connect it doesnt work, i either get a blank screen, or it still shows the game list, but i do see the HD LED working.... what could be wrong? i tried different resolutions too... no luck

Do you have the latest drivers of:

    1. Ali chipset
    2. BusMastering
    3. DirectX
    4. AGP

I've also heard of probs with the Realtek nics. I think Kruzin had some probs wth that nic but I could be wrong. Search the forums.

i have the latest of everything.... and i very much doubt it has to do with my NIC card cos it only happens in OpenGL and only on selected drivers releases...

      any other solutions?

i got it working but im so P***sid off.....

on the opengl site it sais you dont NEED to download the opengl files cos they are included if you have win95b or win98.... i have win win95b... but when i went to download it and run it, it unzipped some files that weren't there..... i dont understand y? it's included but i think they (sgi) changed it.... and thats what the new matrox drivers require.!!!!

now for the good stuff, its slightly better looking and slightly faster, finally i got some good matrox drivers running, that works well with HL.... in OpenGL mode....

        GL all the way!!!
