  • 30 fps, or 29.97?

Hey, anyone know if there's any issues with capturing at 29.97 fps? Does the Marvel do it right?

    29.97 is the NTSC standard.
And no there's no known issues with the Marvels and the specified frame rate.

The Marvel does it right, but sometimes the *capture software* used doesn't always match this rate.

PC-VCR often hovers on the high side of 30fps.

AVI_IO can lock it down exactly, which is why I use of most of the time.

Media Studio Pro has the ability to correct errant frame rates within a narrow range of the various "ideal" rates. It's at file/convert/frame rate.

If you're using an editor that can do this you should be doing frame rate corrections on all your errant clips as a pre-production step.

        DrMordrid,
The last statement, is it also true for PAL? Or it is only NTSC issue? Thanks.
